Job Summary
Our client is a leading Tier 1 Financial Institution with a rapidly expanding network of subsidiaries across Africa. They are seeking a strategic leader to ensure seamless technology operations, security, and innovation across all subsidiary locations.
Our client’s infrastructure powers millions of transactions daily, and they are seeking two dynamic Transformation Managers (one for BD2 and one for BD4) to lead critical modernisation initiatives. These roles will drive the evolution of legacy systems, processes, and technologies, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic objectives.
As Transformation Manager (BD2 or BD4), you will be responsible for end-to-end transformation of your assigned business domain. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and oversee initiatives that modernize operations, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Job Details
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the transformation roadmap for your assigned domain (BD2 or BD4), aligned with the bank's strategic goals.
- Lead modernization of legacy systems, processes, and technologies, ensuring scalability and future-readiness.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring initiatives are completed on time, within scope, and budge.
2. Operational Excellence
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and external partners to drive alignment and adoption.
- Present progress, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your domain.
3. Security & Compliance
- Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth transition and user adoption.
- Conduct training programs and communication plans to minimize disruption and maximize engagement.
- Monitor effectiveness of transformation initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.
4. Innovation & Modernization
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) to enhance transformation outcomes.
- Promote agile methodologies and lean practices to drive efficiency.
5. Team & Stakeholder Management
- Develop training programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Implement performance metrics and service level agreements.
- Establish KPIs to track the success of transformation programs.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, challenges, and ROI.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Requirements
Key Qualifications and Competencies
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
- Master's degree or certifications in Project Management (PMP), Agile (Scrum, SAFe), or Change Management (Prosci) preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in business transformation, program management, or consulting, with 5+ years in financial services.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation projects in complex environments.
- Certifications:
- Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner
- Accredited Change Manager (ACM) / Certified Change Leader (CCL)
- SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe® Agilist (SA)
- Program Management Professional (PgMP)®
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®
